Eleven Months

I can't believe this is going to be my last monthly update before our little boy turns a year old! This year has gone by so fast and has been the best of my life thus far.  I've heard people say this before, but can totally relate to it now-"being a mother is the hardest job you'll ever love"  I absolutely love being a mama to my sweet little Evan Jaimison.  Each day is something new.  Each day has it's tough moments and each day I love this little guy more and more.

Always on the go!

At eleven months you are:

starting to think about walking! you will take a couple quick short steps from the ottoman to the couch with your arms stretched out in front of you and eyes wide.  You can stand by yourself for quite awhile, but when you realize what you are doing you freak out and sit down right away.

finally in size 3 diapers! you can still probably fit into the size 2, but i refuse to buy anymore when we have plenty of the bigger size.

healthy after a 2-3 week run of being sick.  Started off as a cough/runny nose that lasted on and off for about 2 weeks.  I finally gave in and took you to the doctor (bad mama) and found out you were working on the beginnings of an ear infection. You took your medicine like a champ and have been a much happier baby.

you'll probably kill me for this someday, but I couldn't resist.  Poor sick baby.

still an amaaazing eater!   I feel so blessed to have a little garbage disposal and I'm hoping this lasts. I haven't found anything you don't like to eat!  Currently some of your faves are yogurt, oatmeal, bananas, cheerios, grilled cheese, turkey, mac&cheese, peaches, apples, green beans and the newest and healthiest....oreos!

now the proud owner of 5 teeth!  Your top two have finally made their appearance.  Thank goodness.  I love my little gapped tooth baby!

Evan, we love so much and can't even explain how much joy you bring to our lives. Can't wait to celebrate your first birthday!!

Halloween

Cutest giraffe ever!

Evan, surprisingly didn't mind wearing his costume so he sported it pretty much all day long.  Jaimie had to work so we visited him at the hospital and then went to the grandparent's to do some trick or treating.  Evan loved watching all the kids running around the neighborhood and would try to talk to anyone who would listen.  All in all, it was a good first Halloween.  The little giraffe even scored some candy for mom and dad. :)

Fall

I absolutely love fall.  Fave season by far.  I'm not too excited that fall turns into winter, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.  The cool, crisp weather, smell of leaves and rain, everything pumpkin, baking goodies and chai-lattes are just a few of the things I love.  I've got my mums and pumpkin on the porch and spiced-flavored candles burning.

Fall is even more fun with a crazy, energetic baby.  Evan LOVES being outside.  We have gone on walks and played out in the fresh air as much as possible.

10 months!

T minus 2 months until the big one!  Not ready...

He's a little self-conscious about that double chin...don't tell him I posted this

And he's off...

At 10 months you:

have 3 teeth, all on the bottom and I am pretty sure you are wokring on more...snotty nose, sometimes fussy and constantly drooling

still wearing those size 2 diapers

are walking behind the walker wagon that used to be your dad's

say mama, dada or da-yee, uh-oh, daw(dog), mum-mum

get super excited when it's time to eat, you start smacking your lips and wave your hands in the air

still nursing around 4 times a day (give or take a few)

love reading/turning/ripping books

raise your arm up in the air toward the sky when you hear an airplane

are such a happy baby!

9 whole months!

At nine months you are very curious and have no fear.  You are crawling everywhere and would crawl off a cliff if someone didn't stop you.

You are still a great eater. You LOVE chicken and will pretty much eat anything we put in front of you.  Not a huge fan of tomatoes...just like your dad.

Size 2 diapers are still covering your bum.

You are now waving and giving high fives.

You are sleeping through the night!!!!  9-7or 8.  It is glorious!

I think you are trying to transition from 2 naps to 1.  A long afternoon nap seems to work for you better than a short morning and afternoon slumber.

You have entered the "stranger danger" phase and mostly like to be held by mom, dad or grandparents, but you are quick to warm up to people.

All your baby blues can be fixed by taking you outside.  It is your fave place ever.

8 MONTHS

Well, you are obviously crawling now and getting into EVERYTHING!  You are more and more fun every. stinkin. day.  Of course we have our rough days...but the good far outweigh the... ehhh not so good.  As long as you get a good nap and a full belly, you are golden.

You are a great eater! We've been giving you a lot more regular food.  Some of your faves are peas, carrots, noodles, whole grain waffles, puffs, avacados, peaches and pears.  Baby food is becoming few and far between.

You love playing with all your toys.  Especially after we put them all away.  They are much mo' fun to play with if they are nicely stacked and tucked away.  You are standing up on everything.  You think you are pretty big stuff.

You experienced your first bout of sickness, but it was very short-lived.  ( I actually think it might of had something to do with the eggs in the pancakes that you had)  But I never knew sooo much puke could come from a little baby.  This is you napping with dad after an unexpected mid-morning bath.  Poor babino :(

You favorite pasttime is playing with cords and outlets.  Safety first!  You probably have nightmares of us repeatedly saying "No, no Evan....No sir!" 

You are still in 6-9 month clothes and size 2 diapers...you have a little bobo just like your dad....

We are still working on sleeping through the night.  We have made the most progress with the "cry-it-out" method.  It has been hard, but we are definitely seeing good results.  You are now only waking once to nurse...usualy around 4 or 5 and then going back to sleep until 7 or 8.

You are sooooo much fun to be around and I wouldn't trade these times for anything!

Typing all of this makes me realize how much he has changed in one month!  9 month update coming soon...hoping to get caught up before I have a one year old!!!

Seven Months...yes we are still alive!

Crazy boy comin at ya!

Ok, let's see....

You are now "crawling", but not really crawling...not sure how to describe it, but you are mobile!

please disreguard my messy kitchen floors.

You are eating anything and everything that we give you.  Your last month adversion to peas is now gone...you love peas, real squished ones!  I haven't found anything now that you don't like.  You love attempting to get your food in your mouth with your little pinchers.

Sleeping is going much mo betta! (knock on wood) After a little period of "crying it out", you now go to bed around 9ish, sleep til 6ish, eat and then go back to sleep until 8ish.  On a good day you take an hour and half nap in the morning and same thing in the afternoon.

You do so well with your grandparents while we are at work, but you don't like to take a nap when you're not at home :/ still workin on that...

You loooooooooove bathtime and think you are big stuff so you try and stand up constantly. somewhat annoying....but we sure do love our clean babinooo :)

6 months

I can't believe I have a six month old!  I never thought this day would come....I bet you can't even imagine the drama that will arrive once he turns a year.

This is our look...90% of the time-we keep asking him where his bottom lip ran off to

At six months you are:

sitting up all by yourself!

eating baby food-so far your favorite is carrots...peas are SICK!  you are very dramatic about the peas

"playing" so well with your toys-we can just sit you down and you love to "play"

learning the hard way that you do NOT need to eat a couple times during the middle of the night

sleeping unswaddled!!!! thank goodness we broke that habit

the binky and swaddling are things of the past!

mmmmm thickened breast milk...what a treat.
