Toe Jam and Easter

This may sound weird to you, but I LOVE picking out Evan's toe jam.  It might seem gross, but really, it is only sock fuz from my baby's precious little toes!  The reason I am telling you this is because of the treasure I came across the other night.  You can only imagine how excited I was when I found this the other night...

Yay for toe jam!

Now on to something new.  Jaime, Evan and I went to Tulsa to be with some of Jaimie's family for Easter.  It was a quick trip, but we had a blast!  Evan did so good traveling!  The whole way there and back, he did not cry once!  He is really spoiling us in this baby business.  Evan had so much fun with his cousins.  He watched them wide-eyed the whole time, and every once-in-awhile he would let out a screech of excitement.  We were bad parents this weekend and didn't document any of his first road trip, but we did get a picture of Evan with his great-grandma Maxine :)

Evan could hardly wait to get back home so he could dive into his very first Easter basket, as you can tell by the look on his face...

Is that not the cutest, little, chubby-cheeked baby ever?!

Precious, precious baby all worn out from Easter weekend

We had a great Easter weekend celebrating with family and good food!  I just hope that we can be examples to Evan of the real reason we celebrate Easter.  He may not understand now, but I pray everyday he learns to love Jesus and accept the grace that we have been given.  I really like this version of Casting Crown's song Living He Loved Me- I love the chorus:

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

Hope you all had a blessed Easter!

Who needs to shower?

So for any moms out there, you know that getting a shower for the day is sometimes a luxury.  Am I right?  Well, I have found a great product that has been a time/lifesaver.  You know you have those days that you think you get up in time to shower before you have to be somewhere and then your baby decides that he needs to pee/poop/spitup on himself x5.  Three outfits later, it is time to leave the house and your hair hasn't been washed in a day, or three days, but who is counting?!  John Freida has come out with.....

It sprays a fine, fresh smelling powder that is a great oil absorber!! Spray at the roots and give it a little tousle.  Almost as good as new! almost...

Now for the few of you who read my blog....most of which all probably read just for pictures of my baby...I will leave you with a couple shots.  Nothing too exciting going on here!

Hopefully my next post will be much more exciting!

Stop and Smell the Flowers

These lilacs are right outside our kitchen window so when the window is open, the smell is amaaaazing!

Everyday can't be perfect

Today started out like any other day.  J went off to work, and Evan and I started our day with breakfast and a little Baby Einstein while I picked up the house (which didn't really amount to much).  But when I tried to lay Evan down for his morning nap, he had other plans in mind.  Ok, he just wasn't tired yet....which turned into he wasn't tired at allllllll today.

After hiding behind his cradle, rocking it and occasionally putting his binkie back in his mouth for a good half hour, I finally gave in.  Now I'm not too good at letting him "cry it out" yet, but I forsee that method in our NEAR future.

Three in the afternoon rolls around and still no nap.  It was beautiufl today, besides the wonderful Kansas wind, so we decided to go for a walk/mom trying to jog.  The walk was successful and he was still in a pretty good mood, so we took our first trip to Hobby Lobby.  After much oo-ing and aww-ing from the crafty ladies, we headed home, for sure ready for a nap.  Boy, was I wrong.  If I would've made him stay down for this nap, the world for sure would have come to an end.  So I put him in his swing thinking maybe he would fall asleep in there.....................NOT A CHANCE.

Evan decided he wanted to be held and wanted to scream/squeal/screach/gurgle in my ear.  That is what made him happy.  At this point, I had been spit up on and drooled on probably a billion times.  I had decided to stop changing our clothes much earlier in the day.  What was the point? I wanted to put him in the backyard with the dogs, but don't worry, I didn't.  Instead, I called my mom and let her listen to him as she talked some sanity into me.

I decided to take Evan out on the porch...maybe some fresh air would do us both good.  He LOVED it!  Here is a video of him that totally changed my attitude.  God's reminder to me that the day may not be perfect, but love is.  Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Evan is currently taking his first nap of the day....just a couple short hours before he is supposed to be in bed for the night.  Who needs sleep????

Four Months

You look like such a big boy in the chair!
This month you started laughing!  It was sooooo beautiful! (I may or may not have cried) Nana said you laughed for her first, but we're not so sure about that ;)
The first time we heard you laugh was on your daddy's birthday!  Best birthday present ever!

Dad's 32nd....I mean..uh...26th birthday... :)

Not so sure about your sunny day apparel...But your feet make for a great snack

We knew you loved bath time, but you LOVE shower time!

Love, love, love my drooly, chubby little man!

Spring has Sprung!

I love spring.
I love the sunshine.
I love driving with the windows down.
I love fresh flowers.  ( Even though my thumb is as far from being green as it can be.)
I love taking my baby outside-it instantly stops him from crying.
I love going for walks.
I love (trying to love) learning how to run with the jogging stroller.
I love/hate spring cleaning.

this clean, clutterless table lasted less than a day

I know I said I love spring, but fall will always be my favorite season!
